IKEA Canada offers a plant-based spin on their traditional meatballs with the introduction of new plant balls across Canada.
The new plant-based meatball alternative is made with pea protein, oats, potatoes, onion, and apples, for a familiar experience with the same taste and texture as its meaty counterpart – without the meat.
Additionally, the new recipe contains no animal ingredients, making it a viable option for meat lovers, flexitarians, vegetarians, and vegans alike.
Fans can find the new plant-based meatballs in the frozen food section of Ikea’s Swedish Food Markets for $6.99 per 500g bag. The plant ball dish is also available for the same price at IKEA Restaurants across the country, classically served with mashed potatoes, broccoli, lingonberries and cream sauce.
Fans can choose to dine-in or takeout, based on what’s available in their region – due to COVID – and are advised to check online in advance to see what’s open at their local IKEA.
