Toronto police have recovered the body of a woman from Lake Ontario after the car she was in crashed through a guardrail and plunged off a bridge into Lake Ontario.
The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday. Divers with the Toronto Police Marine Unit recovered the body Friday morning.
The car remains submerged at this time. Authorities have a tow truck in place to pull the car out of the water, however, a barge with a crane is on standby in the event the car is stuck to the bottom.
