Kraft Hockeyville, the annual competition in which communities from across Canada compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey is back for 2018.

The winning community will win an opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game along with $250,000 in local arena upgrades. Three second place communities will each receive $25,000 in arena upgrades.

For 2018, 4 finalist communities will be selected – 2 from the East and 2 from the West – who have rallied together behind an amazing story. The finalists will go head to head in voting for Canadians to decide who will be the next Kraft Hockeyville.

Arena nominations open on January 1, and run through February 11, 2018, with the four finalists announced on March 17, 2018. Public voting opens of Friday, March 30 and closes on Saturday, March 31, with the grand prize winner announced on or around April 1, 2018.

Last year, O’Leary, P.E.I. was announced as the winner on April 1, by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

To nominate your local arena, go to KraftHockeyville.ca, find your arena using the arena search feature, and add your original story telling Canadians why your community should be the next Kraft Hockeyville.
