House of Cards season five returns to Netflix Canada on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, the streaming service announced Friday.
The fact that the announcement coincided with Donald Trump’s inauguration was no coincidence. Netflix also released teaser for the upcoming fifth season on YouTube and social media platforms.
The teaser features the voices of young children reciting the Pledge of a Allegiance against the backdrop of a gloomy sky as the camera zooms out to reveal an upside-down American flag waving in the breeze. An upside-down flag is often used to signal distress of some king.
The series stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, whose characters have always been each other’s strongest allies, show cracks in their relationship.
