YouTube Canada announced Monday that YouTube Music and YouTube Premium are now available in Canada.
YouTube Music is a new, free music streaming service built on the backbone of YouTube’s music library. Supported by ads, the new service provides users with full access to official albums, singles, remixes, live performances, covers and hard-to-find music for free.
YouTube Music Premium is an ad-free service priced at $9.99 per month for an individual membership or $14.99 per month for a Family Plan, good for up to six family members. The premium service provides users with the ability to listen ad-free, in the background and on-the-go with downloads.
Additionally, YouTube Premium (formerly YouTube Red) also launches today, providing members with all the the benefits of Music Premium, plus ad-free, background, and downloads across all of YouTube. YouTube Premium members also get access to the full slate of YouTube Originals shows and movies including the hit series Cobra Kai, Impulse, F2 Finding Football and The Sidemen Show.
YouTube Premium will set you back $11.99 per month for an individual membership, or $17.99 per month for a Family Plan, good for up to six family members.
To kick things off, YouTube is offering a special promotion where you get up to three months of service for free, for a limited time.
The YouTube Music app is available to download for free at the Google Play Store and iOS App Store.
Subscriptions can be purchased via the mobile app, or directly through YouTube Canada’s website.
