Touted as the brand’s “most innovative new menu items yet,” Subway Canada launches all-new Signature Rice Bowls in four fan-favourite Subway flavours.
The launch is the next step in the brand’s Eat Fresh Refresh journey and is bolstered by its partnership with 2021-22 NBA Rookie of the Year and Toronto Raptors forward, Scottie Barnes.
The brand’s new Signature Rice Bowls combine fresh vegetables, zesty and flavourful sauces, and new hearty grains, including a brown, red and wild rice blend.
Signature Rice Bowls debut in the following four flavours:
- Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki: Teriyaki glazed chicken strips, a selection of fresh veggies and a blend of seasoned brown, red & wild rice, and topped with Sweet Onion sauce.
- Crispy Chicken Bacon & Peppercorn Ranch: Crispy seasoned chicken breast, Maplewood Smoked Bacon, delicious shredded Monterey jack cheese and a blend of seasoned brown, red & wild rice, topped with fresh veggies and the zesty kick of new Peppercorn Ranch dressing.
- Green Goddess Veggie: A blend of seasoned brown, red & wild rice, paired with your favourite crisp veggies, new Smashed Avocado and drizzled in the brand’s new Green Goddess Dressing which adds a tangy taste with a blend of herbs.
- Southwest Steak & Avocado: Canadian seasoned steak, new Smashed Avocado, a selection of fresh veggies, a blend of seasoned brown, red & wild rice, topped with an extra kick with the classic Southwest Chipotle sauce and sweet and tangy Banana Peppers.
For the launch, Subway Canada drafted Raptors forward Scottie Barnes to introduce the new Rice Bowls to Canadians in a series of TV spots and a social promotion throughout the fall.
In one of the upcoming TV spots profiling the all-new Rice Bowls, Scottie Barnes is seen dreaming up a whole new take on Subway – inspired by the latest menu introductions – he calls it, enthusiastically, “Bowlway.”
Later this month, Torontonians will have the chance to experience an immersive pop-up event hosted by Scottie Barnes himself. Bowlway will take place at SPACE on King (300 King St E) from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, October 27, 2022. This open-doors event will include Rice Bowl sampling, games, photo opps and the chance to meet Scottie himself.
