Cineplex revealed plans on Monday to gradually reopen its Canadian theatres, starting with six locations in Alberta next week.
As provincial governments begin to loosen restrictions on social gatherings, Cineplex says it plans to begin showing movies in Alberta on Friday, June 26.
In all Canadian markets where Cineplex is permitted by government and health authorities, the company says it plans to reopen as many of its locations as possible on July 3, 2020 – or as soon thereafter as permitted by local laws.
It has been three months since Cineplex temporarily shuttered all its theatres and entertainment venues across Canada due to the coronavirus pandemic.
