Walmart Canada is closing all Tire & Lube Express centres across the country by the end of June 2020.
Rumours of the closures started circulating across social media networks last week.
Today, CTV News reported the move will impact 550 current employees. The company will reportedly work to find them comparable roles and expects to “retain the vast majority of associates in our stores,” CTV reported Monday.
While automotive items will still be available to purchase, tires as well as automotive services will no longer be available, with the exception of 50 locations where Mr. Lube centres are embedded in Walmart stores.
