KFC Canada is teaming up with Lightlife for the debut of new KFC Plant-Based Fried Chicken.

Plant-based fried chicken debuts in two menu options: Plant-Based Fried Chicken Sandwich and Popcorn Chicken.

KFC Canada’s Plant-Based Fried Chicken will make its debut as part of a limited test at one location, for one day only in Mississauga, Ontario on November 27, 2019.

Fans looking to try the plant-based options are invited to visit KFC at 6055 Creditview Road in Mississauga, Ontario between the hours of 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., or while supplies last. The first 50 people in line will get a free sandwich or popcorn chicken.

During the limited test, the Plant-Based Fried Chicken Sandwich will be available in both regular or spicy options for a suggested price of $6.99, and as part of a meal for $8.99. A Plant-Based Fried Popcorn Chicken bucket will also be available starting at $3.99.

Additionally, fans can try both the plant-based menu items by selecting a meal for one option, which also comes with a side of fries, salad and a can of lime Bubly for $10.99.

KFC’s Plant-Based Fried Chicken is made in Canada by plant-based protein brand Lightlife, whose broad portfolio of products is available in retailers nationwide such as Metro, Loblaws, Sobeys, Longo’s and Federated Coop.
