After 10 years with CBC Newfoundland and Labrador, Ryan Snoddon is packing his bags after announcing he’s leaving St. John’s for Halifax to become the new meteorologist for CBC Nova Scotia and CBC New Brunswick.
Snoddon announced the decision to his followers on Twitter and Facebook on Friday.
“After 10 years with @CBCNL and a province that I absolutely love, I have made the decision to head to Halifax for a fantastic opportunity to be the meteorologist for @CBCNS and @CBCNB.”
He is scheduled to start his new role on June 18, when he will be featured on CBC Nova Scotia News at 6 and CBC New Brunswick News at 6, as well as later in the evening on CBC Atlantic Tonight.
Snoddon replaces Kalin Mitchell, who left the CBC to take over the role as chief meteorologist for CTV Atlantic after the departure of Cindy Day.
Ryan is endorsed by the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and was awarded the seal of approval for Broadcast Meteorology from the National Weather Association.
