Quebec’s minimum wage will increase to $12 per hour on May 1, 2018. Minimum wage workers currently make $11.25 in the province.
The increase was announced by Labour Minister Dominique Vien Wednesday morning.
The last time the Quebec government raised the minimum wage was in May 2017.
Quebec’s rate increase comes on the heels of neighbouring Ontario’s rate increase to $14 per hour from $11.60 on January 1.
