CTV Unveils Sneak Peek Of New Tragically Hip Documentary

CTV is offering fans a sneak peak of a new documentary on The Tragically Hip, their challenging year, and their momentous cross-Canada “Man Machine Poem” tour, after frontman Gord Downie announced he had incurable brain cancer.

The upcoming film chronicles the emotional and lead up to the iconic Canadian band’s 2016 tour that captured the heart of the nation. Fans will be offered an exclusive perspective into The Tragically Hip’s world through intimate moments, behind-the-scenes and on-stage footage, as well as personal interviews with the band and close friends.

The short teaser features a thoughtful Gord Downie and behind-the-scenes moments of the band in rehearsal and backstage during their tour.

The documentary is set for a fall theatrical run ahead of its television premiere in late fall on CTV. The network premiere will be followed by availability on various Bell Media and on-demand platforms, including The Movie Network, MUCH, and CraveTV.

The film is directed by Canadian documentary filmmakers Jennifer Baichwal and Nicholas de Pencier, and produced by Banger Films.
