A Montreal bakery is creating a real buzz with its unique take on classic doughnuts: DoughNats.

When you consider some of the flavour names, like “Cinder(Nut)Ella,” “Ore-Doh,” and “Tru-Doh” it’s easy to understand why the bakery, and its DoughNats are quickly becoming the sweet talk of the town.

From a technical perspective, DoughNats are smaller than typical doughnuts, with about 2 to 3 bites each. You can think of them as being somewhere between the size of a traditional doughnut and a Timbit, but big in flavour.

The Prime Minister Justin Trudeau-inspired DoughNat – Tru-Doh – features a Chocolate Glaze doughnut topped with a couple homemade brownies.

DoughNats bakery owner Nathalie Shtern told CTV News that the bakery’s Trudeau-inspired DoughNat is named Tru-Doh because it’s a “classic glazed, chocolate glazed,” and “happens to be the best looking doughnut too so it’s a good combination for Justin.”

An assorted DoughNat Box of 12 is priced at $20, and can be ordered online at the Bakery’s website. The shop also offers delivery in the greater Montreal region, including the Island of Montreal, Laval and South Shore for $5, however, there may be additional fees for some areas.
