President’s Choice Plus Points (PC Plus) members are being urged to update their passwords after points were stolen from some members’ accounts.

According to reports, Loblaw emailed PC Plus members last month with a warning to strengthen their passwords. Loblaw also posted an “Important Security Reminder” on the PC Plus website urging members to make sure their passwords are “unique, private and changed often.”

While Loblaw is unable to disclose how many accounts were breached, spokesman Kevin Groh said the company is working to reimburse customers who have had their points stolen.

Members can use their accumulated points to buy food and other merchandise.
