The Royal Canadian Mint is releasing a new series of pure silver collector coins honouring Canada’s firefighters, paramedics, police and the military.
The first coin in the series – designed by Canadian artist Ken Ryan – is a tribute to Canada’s firefighters and the dangers they face every time they answer the call of duty. The background features a burning home while selective colour highlights the firefighter in the foreground. He has just emerged from the house with the family dog in an image that reflects the depth of a firefighter’s commitment to preserve and protect all life.
Other coins in the series include: paramedics, police, and military.
Firefighter – the first coin in the National Heroes series has a mintage of 10,000, a face value of $15, and is priced at $69.95.
