Taco Bell Canada has announced plans to start serving beer at select locations beginning in June.

The chain made the announcement Tuesday, saying its flagship restaurant, located at 484 Queen Street West in Toronto is expected to be the first location in Canada to introduce alcohol to the menu.

“Consumers aged 19-plus can expect a selection of beer on the menu, with the potential for more beverages to be added later,” the chain said in a statement.

In addition to serving beer, Taco Bell Canada also said it plans to expand to 700 locations, from the current 170 locations across the country.

As part of the brand’s growth strategy, newly opened Taco Bell Canada locations will showcase an overhauled design footprint, featuring updated décor, local artwork, open kitchen layouts, open plating and shareable menus.
