Popular New York-based food chain The Halal Guys are set to open their first location in Toronto, on May 5, 2017.
Known for their iconic red-and-yellow food carts, Middle Eastern dishes, and white and hot sauces, The Halal Guys quickly developed a cult-like following soon after rolling out their first food cart in New York City in 1990. Since then, The Halal Guys have converted the food cart concept into fast-casual dining locations.
The new Toronto restaurant, located on 563 Yonge Street, at the intersection of Yonge and Wellesley, will officially open its doors at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 5. To celebrate the grand opening, the first 300 customers will have the opportunity to spin a wheel for a chance to win The Halal Guys merchandise, including t-shirts, sunglasses, and discount vouchers.
Additionally, fans who sign up for The Halal Guys loyalty program will be entered to win one of five vouchers good for a month of free food at the Toronto location.
In addition to Toronto’s first flagship location, the franchise owners plan to expand operations throughout Toronto and neighbouring cities in the coming years.
